In the history of tourism and travel in general there have always been problems, whether they be of a catastrophic level or, more commonly, simple snags that may at times make you wish you'd not come in the first place. Hopefully these little problems that we must invariably face are not of such a nature that we board the plane or cruise ship back home while still in anger. Yet for these little snags there is an answer of sorts, all inclusive vacations.
All inclusive vacations were designed with economy and luxury married to provide the top level of enjoyment, while defraying costs where possible, and eliminating unseen difficulties. This means that while you might pay for a vacation normally that is not an all inclusive vacation, you may arrive at your destination to learn that there is kayak rental, horseback riding and introductory lessons. There might be snowboarding when you thought it was a skiing-only slope, scuba diving, also with lessons, Para-sailing, and deep sea excursions. All of this is at extra cost, not to mention that your travel agent told you about none of this.
So the vacation just became a lot more expensive, especially as your children want to try every activity imaginable. An all inclusive vacation on the other hand, provides umbrella coverage for fun and entertainment. You will receive tickets for the show when Tony Bennett, Wayne Newton, or the ghost of "Ol' Blue Eyes" Frank Sinatra makes an appearance. No extra or hidden cost. You've already paid for it, so enjoy.
The full coverage of all inclusive vacations often runs over to more pedestrian. yet important, expenses like food and room service. Your food will be prepaid (which often means "all you can eat" at some resorts). Drinks, whether alcoholic or not, valets, even tips for the waiter after meals, are all pre-paid.
Of course the payment plans vary between different all inclusive vacation packages, and between different travel agents, so carefully discussing this with your travel agent is paramount. As well, it's best to remember the old adage "nothing is free" as truly, you are paying for all of the extra amenities, so if you're on a budget, the all inclusive vacations may not always be for you.
Further, as with all things, make sure you understand exactly what you're getting for your money, and get it all in writing. Unfortunately, every year there are complaints -no matter which type of travel package is chosen, in which something verbally promised is not received, which causes anger and resentment, which no one should have to have when they're trying to relax.
As well, sometimes "the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing" -that is, due to policy changes or lack of communication some aspect of a program or some service becomes extinct or modified. These things happen no matter what, but are less likely to happen with all inclusive vacations..
